Always Bunday

Yes, we have missed Monday Bunday and profuse apologies to all followers who expect a post. However yesterday, Monday Bunday, to be precise, an achievement was achieved. All bunnies had their nails trimmed at home by me. Usually we have a field trip to the Rabbit Haven adoption show where there is also a bunny spa service, but having missed a couple of opportunities nails were getting quite long. Mandarin buns these are not.

I started easy with Amelia, who basically held out her paw to be trimmed, my goodness what cooperative gurl she is.

Harriet was next and, though not as ridiculously willing as Amelia, she presented no problems.

Tyler was surprised to picked up when he thought he was going to get an extended pet. He was a bit more squirelly, and I had to re-position him a few times, but in the end not much dignity was lost on either side.

Sydney has always been a problem even to pet, though she is friendly enough on her own terms and will give a bink sometimes when I come in the door. I found her in her pen, which is open on two sides, but she finds to be comforting space, she periscoped up to me thinking I had a treat for her, and I am sorry to say, I grabbed her when she was back on all fours. I am a horrible person, a betrayer of the worst kind. Once subdued she was pretty well behaved and wiggled less than her brother. I tortured her with snuggles and petting and a piece of apple, which surprisingly, she ate while I was holding her. Unlike past holding episodes this time Sydney didn't hold as much of the grudge and came out from behind the couch in less than an hour.

Be well Buns and All.

The buns were very sweet to you! I am shocked to hear there were no protests of toes being stolen - congrats!

Don't you hate that? That feeling like you're the most evil betrayer bun torturer in the entire world? It's terrible. I'm ashamed to say I do put off nail trimmings and groomings for that very reason.

Glad to hear everyone did relatively well. I love how the girls both have mittens of opposite colors. they're like negatives of each other!

WTG! I think I would rather trim a tiger's nails than Mojo (or get meds into her) the rest of the buns are pretty easy.

Pretty soon they will be expecting polish with their "peticures". I bet Sydney goes for bright red!

Yesterday was nail trimming day at our house, too. Not a great deal of fun for bun and all, but we managed to accomplish what needed to be done, so everybun is better off for the inconvenience I caused them.

Bunns have loooooooooooong memories and are no doubt still plotting their revenge. Or, on the other hand, it may have been delightful for all!

It got done, the key part! Good job.

Amelia there looks like a statue ...

Hey, it's gotta be done sooner or later. A few days and a few treats should erase any bad memories.

Hmmm...well each bun did get your undivided attention and treats. And perhaps they realize that with shorter nails it is easier to thump their displeasure, harder to hear them on hardwood floors so they can launch sneak attacks, and they won't stick to the carpet as much when they are renovating it.

I can trim 2 of my 4 bunn's nails. The boys want no part of it. I have to bunny burrito them to even get close!

oh well done, I always used to let Crafty Green Boyfriend trim Anya's nails, she hated having it done...

CGP-wise choice! you are lucky CGBF has the skill :)
A-a good burrito can work wonders.
FF-It must somehow work into their plans for domination, I quake to find out....
K-I hope so, though some buns seem to have elephantine memories.
RG-it is my fear.....yes.....what are they thinking now.
MM-it really helped taking them all those times and just watching.
B- Nail must have been on the Bunners Almanac.
KM- Sydney would look INCREDIBLE in red, yes!
C-I am surprised anybun could resist your skills!
L-I am sure that the Karmic recoder put another mark next to "Bunny Betrayer".
LR- at least not yet, truth to tell I kind of had fun....

Grooming pets is always an adventure and I think a lot of it has to do with the indentured's 'tude. I have to think that you've proven yourself worthy here, D.

wow...buns spa! Ive been yearning to go to a human spa, so a bun spa sound good for me too. Poor Sydney...but I am sure she loves you just as much...especially with a carrot dangled by you anytime. Missed you a lot and happy bunnday.

P-My previous rabbit, Bandit, would let me do anything to her, she even let me flush her sinuses with saline solution. I had her for 9 years, getting used to different buns has been a bit of a curve. Actually my one day goal is to help at the bunny spa for Rabbit Haven!
MK-miss you too! hope you get to the spa or at least get a foot rub :)

goodness - 54 nails snipped and clipped!
I struggle to do one a week (one nail a week) on Arabella - we are taking it easy and pretending that it's like a dreamscape experience (did that just really happen??). She hates the clippers. I even ordered a pair online as the old ones were completely unacceptable to her.
My vet's pair apparently cost £100 years ago and I can buy the same pair today for £140! hmmmm

Wow! Four buns! That is an accomplishment. I have to do Mario's soon but have been putting it off, too. He is more or less agreeable, but I dislike the whole thing.
