Monday Bunday

Amelia and Harriet and Harriet and Amelia with Rose Petals.....

Following our instructions to bond more often for less time, we had a quick session today in the bathroom, which is neutral territory as far as Harriet and Amelia are concerned. I opted out of putting them in the tub because, frankly, the plant is a pain to move; huge, heavy, a bit fragile. I tried to carry them both in the basket shown in the picture, but couldn't get Amelia to wait while I picked up Harriet; so much for carpooling.

However once both buns were in the bathroom I smooshed them both in the basket and did cross petting. When they free to get out of the basket they immediately did so, but soon the basket became a item of fascination for both and on separate occasions each rabbit hopped in and dug at the towel.

I did more smooshing and cross petting on the floor and we had rose petals for snacks. There was a little charging and maybe one attempted nip, which isn't bite, remember, but a communication saying pay attention to ME. I stopped the session on a happy rose petal tinged note and hopefully the girls will remember their nice date tomorrow when we bond again.

HAPPY SPRING AND REMEMBER TO PET A BUNNY
(OR REASONABLE SUBSTITUTE).

It's all about ME - no ME - no ME - no ME!

It sounds like your bonding sessions are coming along. Yay bunnies!

Your bonding sessions are giving me inspiration to try to bond a couple of mine. Thanks for the stories, hope I can be as calm as you are!

Your bonding sessions are giving me inspiration to not try any more bonding! I haven't the patience - some bunny might get whacked!

However - this WILL work.

I love DKM's comment and your "So much for carpooling" comment. I love your sense of humor! Great job too - I've not been good at bonding either.

so sweet, lovely to see them enjoying their rose scented date!

Is there a reasonable substitute for a bun? the only candidate I can think of is perhaps a baby duck. Even at their cutest and fluffiest, a baby chick is still too pointy.

That first pic looks an awful lot like a snuggle... Either you're very good at deceptive photography, or those girls are getting quite close to successful bonding.

Second pic-Amelia's ears made me laugh out loud!! and her dark parts seem to be getting ever darker... lighten up Amelia, it's spring!

As for petting a bunny--I'll try, but it may get me injured or at least shunned...

DKM-yup, somehow each girl thinks she is the one....
BG-not too bad :)
LR-hay, good luck, I'll be watching your blog for that!
RG-I KNOW you would NEVER whack-a-bunn. Stop pretending to be a tough guy.
MOC-it's all good clean fun!
CGP- we are soooo lucky roses are in season.
I-hmm, yes, the problem is the word reasonable, maybe adequate without having to go too much out of your way you poor deprived bunnyless humans?
L-the pull of the rose is strong! Yeah, Amelia's ears are way goofy, you should see them when she hops OMG....what your buns won't let you pet them? Well, Sydney won't let me pet her....

That looked like it went very well. Of course rose petals can make most things better.
Ok...the carpooling thing was really funny!

Yay, progress! That is great to see. I didn't know bunnies liked rose petals (where have I been?) I have lots right now.
