Sydney is fine, but she is up for "Most Likely to Be Taken To The Vet" award. I had heard somebun cough the day before, that coupled with a morning episode of phlegmy hacking and more coughing later was enough to send me to the phone. Though it seemed probable that the morning episode was the result of a pellet being snarfled before chewing properly. By the time the afternoon rolled around she seemed fine, eating, grooming, checking out the playroom (DS bedroom). Tyler unvoluntarily accompanied her, just for fun, on my part not his. Everything was fine, teeth, lungs, ears, eyes, tummy. We agreed that it was just a pellet incident. There is a tremendous amount of excitement around pellets. Sydney was weighed at the vet and she weighed exactly the same as she did about a year ago. It has been about nine months since we transitioned to Sherwood Forest Natural Rabbit Food M/S. In some circles it is controversial that they put some alfalfa in their adult rabbit formula, it is thought that will make rabbits fat as it is too rich. Sydney says otherwise, she maintains that it is a balanced formula and even has improved the quality of her fur.

Aww bless, that was a fun day out, nothing like a good vet trip to keep up the excitement. I'm glad she's okay :)
I think the exact contents/nutritional ratio in pellets tends to become much less important when they are eating lots of hay anyway. A few percent of protein one way or the other, of not very many pellets has much less impact than if you're eating nothing but them!
As the Buns Churn continues...
Mr. Mick has also had a positive experience with Sherwood Forest; his weight is good and even his vet has commented on how gorgeous his fur is.
I just wish he wouldn't shed it so much. :)
its not so much about the protein content it the ballance of the correct essential amino acids that is important
SR-I think too people are afraid of the fat content, which goes with the whole if you don't eat fat you won't get fat theory, which is incorrect.
J-He is just sharing!! wants you to be beautifual as he is.
P-indeed, indeed (churn, chrn)
T- Hay is the top food for sure, I have notice fur improvement in all the rabbits since Sherwood, so it's a nicely balanced pellet (and doesn't contain soy)
So glad to hear Sydney is OK and staying that way. You are tempting me with the Sherwood... Few non-nutritional aspects of their website are a big turn off though... We'll see we'll see.
Glad to hear Sydney is well, she certainly looks magnificent
Oh Sydney darling. So glad you are doing good. You are such a beauty and always make me miss my Sugie Spot.
xx
Looking darn good Sydney!
Well, Sydney knows these things. I'm with her!
RG she knows a lot..
C-yes, it's had to look bad with a face like that!
MM-Spots are forever
CGP-good all around!
L-yeah, I know what you mean, but...well... I would rather get my buns good food (the basis of good health) than be totally politically correct, I mean their little bodies don't care about that. They do donate to lots of rescues and are very responsive to questions and suggestions. It's a small family operation and everything is made VERY fresh.
That slightly sideways expression is all, like, "que quieres?????" Almost half expect a neck/eye roll...hehe
