No Mess Hay Rack

OK, not exactly no mess, but certainly minimal. Awhile back I got three of these from our friends at The Rabbit Haven and they do work remarkably well. Hinged on the bottoms the front wire is bent to fit the sides of the box and is velcroed to the back. There are holes cut in the grid for feeding. When un-velcroed the top swings out and forward for easy hay stuffing. Anything that makes cleaning easier and keeps hay from causing GI stasis in my vacuum gets the maximum number of stars.

That looks like a pretty handy contraption.

I put the hay in the litter box. This way most of the poops stay in the box too. I am always unglogging the vac now! My Rabbit Haven has the Oreck, GI stasis free.

Nice of Mr. Turtle to play bouncer at the hay bar. :)

looks like a civilised place to hang out eating hay and having a chat

I guess I am lucky, Silver is not messy with her hay. It's in the litter box and when it is new, each evening, she pushes it back and forth in the box, examining it. It stays mostly in! What comes out gets broomed up.

That looks like a great idea! It appears to be a NIC square bent and cut a bit and a box! I wish my buns would eat from something like that. They eat in the litter box, almost exclusively ... which means we waste a lot of hay because after about an hour of being in there, what hasn't been eaten has been peed on and pooped on and hopped on ... nobody eats it after that. So, twice a day hay changes are necessary... the things we do for our buns! :)
