02/18/2011 Year of the Rabbit Print test rubbing
Before actually printing a test proof I like to do a rubbing from the blocks using colored pencils. What doesn't really show here is that there are two blue tones. One that is straight up and one printed either on white or that has white printed over it, depending on what works best (maybe both). The paper I plan on using has a slight neutral tone, this paper is grey, but the general effect is, hopefully, getting close.

Down in the lower right hand corner, they're the registration marks? It's interesting to see how three - become one!
Yes, Paula, on the blocks you can see on the lower right and in the middle of the bottom, the Kentos, little notches that are used to line up the paper!!
It looks great!
Lovely!
How interesting--I've never seen this done! I absolutely adore the photos, but I want to grab up Amelia and just smoosh her and stroke her nose.
Looks good! Like the colors.
the feet are GENIUS.
I like it.
Really interesting to watch this come together. It's beautiful.
it's lovely, i love Amelia's pose and the patterns of the clouds!
Absolutely lovely. You do enjoy using Amelia as a subject, don't you? And why wouldn't you?
Love the Tibetan Clouds.
Curious to see how the white prints over blue.....(it's always better to learn from someone else's experiments!)
Also the blue shadows of the paw/ear.
