Interim

The Year of the Rabbit is being highly anticipated around here. It appears to require doing double guard duty to be sure all is in proper order.

Unlike our friends in the eastern US and pretty much everywhere else we have been having balmy XTREMELY pleasant weather, perhaps the summer we never had last year. In this pic a big Victorian catches the sunset on it's face.

Although it seems like summer, there is a still, reflective quality from the Yin of winter.

Out Metal Rabbit is in place. We visited some artist friends who work in metal so DS could check out that world. I was induced to take plasma torch in hand and cut, OF COURSE, a Metal Rabbit who now sits on the house numbers above the mailbox.

Monday Bunday: Sketches II

Almost a week late I mailed in my sketchbook for the Sketchbook Project. I cheated just a little and ripped out the last four pages. If that wasn't meant to be an option why were those pages perforated, might I ask? In fact, oddly enough, all the pages past the middle were perforated. Had I realized this before starting I would have used them to create double thick pages; next time. Noteworthy events have been the nail trimming of all 4 rabbits, they were all for some reason poorly behaved, with the exception of Harriet, but disapproval was universal. We have had some fenceless meals with varying degrees of success, at least now with trimmed nails the damage will be minimized. DS and Tyler have bonded successfully, and Harriet too. I think Amelia and Tyler could get along OK. Everybun and one loves Tyler.

Have a great week and get ready for THE YEAR OF THE RABBIT

It Was Like This

A palm tree flags down the dawn.

A night beach, birds searching for morsels.

From a mountain look out, all things seem possible.

Dog and Boat, the lucky shot.

Monday Bunday

Having lost my sketchbook, found it and lost it again in between various other projects, duties and disruptions, I am now not quite, but almost officially late in turning it in to the Sketchbook Project. To be truly on time it would have to be postmarked tomorrow, but I got an Email saying that was a soft deadline. All the same if I don't continue to scratch away it won't ever get done. Not all the sketches are rabbits, but since this is Bunday and you've come here for rabbits, here are some rabbits!!

Year of the Rabbit items can be found HERE and HERE.
Get ready to hop!!

From The Time Capsule

Regulation postcard size 4.5 x 5.75 inches.
Set of four for $10.

For 12 years these Year of the Rabbit cards have been waiting for a second chance, and now they have it. A little surgery to remove the now inaccurate 1999, some glue and stack of cut price manila folders to provide a solid back bone and these bunnies are ready to party again like never before. Corners have been rounded with a punch to avoid any of those terrible domestic accidents you read about. The backs have been stamped and hand lined to provide a touch of the hand, some whimsy and another rabbit.

The Moon Rabbit design shows the rabbit in the moon as he pounds the elixir of immortally made from bark of the Cassia tree which also lives on the moon. Rabbits are reputed to derive their origin from the essence of the moon and are highly influenced by that celestial body.

Over sized postcard 6.5 by 4.5 inches, requires a first class letter stamp.
Set of four for $12.

The Ginkgo Rabbit design is based on an ink painting I did of big girl Bandit (ATB) and some leaves from a potted Ginkgo that lived outside my apartment door. I currently have two pots with it's children. Custom orders are welcome (i.e. blank backs, large quantities, special message) just, as they say, convo me. If you would like to buy a set of these fine reincardnated postal pieces you can click HERE to go to my Etsy shop.

'Scuse Me

while I kiss the sky.

I've been taking pictures

of the sky lately and of sunsets,

yes, I agree how cliche,

but so satisfying.

Monday Bunday

Bunnies in charge.

I was unsure about the placement of this small bookcase. It seemed like it would be a cramped against the wall, but then Sydney tried it out and seemed to like it.

Then Tyler joined in. You can't see in the picture unless you look very, very closely, but they are so fast asleep that their little bunny mouths are twitching. The bookcase will stay where it is....

Tyler thinks that a second story would be just fine, he will be happy to design the structure and demolish it as well.
