Monday Bunday

Amelia is healing up and appreciates all the well wishes from her fans and the readers of The Qi Papers and friends on Facebook. She is posing here in her private pen with a flannel Laura Ashely flooring that seats atop a layer of washable wool and a non-vinyl shower curtain. Her pen is outfitted with a litter box and a brand new just for her willow tent, which she likes very much.

Laura Ashely flannel sheeting put to good use.

On the occasion that I have let her out for a hop while I tidied up she has wanted to do nothing better than fight with Harriet through the fence. The Spots and Harriet have fancy flooring too and I must say I certainly appreciate the cheap sheets one can buy at Ross Dress For Less.

Tyler and Harriet model a rock and roll design.

These sheets have come in handy not only in creating the rabbit's new rooms, but also as curtains for rest of the warren. The place came without any window coverings and frankly my bank account would go into permanent hemorrhage if I bought hardware and window treatments even of the most low budget sort. Fortunately the windows all had anchors for hardware so it was easy enough fix up a decent looking rod with pieces of bamboo, two inch cotton twill and a screw. Ross provided sheets for curtains (yet to be actually sewn), but all in all it is a cheap, not completely inelegant and washable solution.

Sydney enjoys a water bowl wedgie atop the stars.

Concerned as always about out gassing of the rug and the new vinyls flooring I bought a few more plants to help clean the air. NASA did some good research about what plants are most effective so I rounded out my plant collection with a few more off that list. Ross once again provided lovely homes for my new foliar friends. I loved these blue and white Chinese pots and got them at a damn good price.

Yes, this plant is a bit small for the pot,
but philodendrons are fast growing
and will fill it up in no time.

STAY WARM AND DRY AND READ A GOOD BOOK.

Glad you're getting settled into the new warren at a cost you can handle! ross is great! LOVE the pot with the bun sitting up! Very cute! And am reading a good book - Hope Rising - about a horse rescue in Oregon that rescues abandoned and abused horses and brings in abandoned and abused kids to help them and be helped. Amazing.

Thanks for the sweet post for today, it makes me feel all tingly inside knowing I'm soon to have some of the same kind of joy!

Buns look well-situated. Wouldn't have thought of Amelia as a Laura Ashley type, though -- more of a Gwen Stefani. Formal window treatments are over-rated and over-priced: always liked the 80s modus operandi of finding a Marimekko or other cool fabric and stapling it over suitably sized stretcher bars and fitting it in the window: light, privacy, and a nice print too. Have books, will read, but need to make a hay and box run before the rain starts. Good week ahead!

Amelia looks quite comfy as she mends.

What would we do without our buns?

OMG you are SO raising the bar on rabbit habitat decor. For gosh sakes, they are just --- OK OK Ouch ....

Looks so nice. What a lucky happy bunch ....

I'm working on my poetry ... oh my but my head hurts. I should have paid attention more in 10th grade

RG-You're not trying to make everything rhyme are you? As for rabbit habitat, well let's just say we live cheek and jowl and that makes for a higher bar.....
B-a world without buns would be no world at all....
FF-oh gosh Marimeko was just the bomb!! I wanted to do fancier fabric from the fabric store, but that was really too much $$$, sheets are such deal. I have some crafty ideas I'm going to jazz them up with too, when time allows.
C-good, well done :))))
P-There is something nice about having them all clean and tucked up in their rooms, though I'd love have them completely free range.
CGP-the light in the new warren is particularly nice, everybun is super photogenic (OK my opinion and theirs only)
MOC-sounds like a great book, do you read it with tissues at hand?

I've had a bunch of rabbits for a few years now, and cannot turn my back on certain pairs together. They will hurt each other badly. Sad to say that Harriet and Amelia might not be able to come together safely enough to be left alone. I know you'll keep an eye on them and they'll be fine, but I worry. I keep a wire wall between the pairs that do not get along now, four feet high, and they still manage to hurt each other occassionally through the wall. They can't do much damage but one had his little eyelid torn a bit, no permanent damage thankfully. You'd think they'd learn to keep their noses on their own side of the fence! Yours are so beautiful!

6Bs-yes, thank you for your fair warning. Rabbits can be deeply passionate beings with strongly held beliefs....good fences make good neighbors.

So glad to read Amelia is healing well, such a beauty. As the bunny decor, I think it's brillant. The best use of Laura Ashely ever!
Nose rubs to all the buns.

We have 4-foot wire walls too - but each one is 2 thicknesses seperated by 4" of empty space!

No I'm not doing ALL ryhme. I am trying to use consonance and all that other stuff - imagery, alliteration, ... Mine starts "A grand man farmed some grand land ..." Can't you just SEE and FEEL it????

That rock and roll bunny sheet makes me want to host another Bunny Benefit Bash.

Great pics, as always. Love to the buns!

Those sheets are super pretty. Laura Ashley is way too expensive here, due to the tax and duties. I often wondered who wants to buy them as they arent the latest fashion and they do cost way too much to buy, and for the same thing, we could pay for 80% cheaper..maybe its cheap there in the states. I love that blue vase. Blue vase are a fav at home, I have them in flower pots and well, any blue ceramics works for me here. Happy week ahead. You and the buns stay warm.

Well dag! I totally missed the post about Amelia. Thank goodness she is doing better. She looks ever so lovely in her tent. As a huge Laura Ashley fan, I can say the bedding fits Amelia's personality and style perfectly.
I need to read about plants that clean the air. Not that I can grow them, but we can all wish right?
xx, shell

Uh oh. I guess I missed something big. I'm going to go back and catch up now.

She looks happy in her private room, and the new warren looks absolutely beautiful. And it does look like the light is very nice there, to my ameteur eye at least.

Because of the buns the plants here have been moved to odd places or dumped out back. I don't have many places to put plants, the buns find a way to get them.
