Through the Glass Lightly
There was a little get-together down the street. There were dog and cat people and rabbit people too; a second grader and some retired folks; some college professors and a few artists. Our magnanimous hosts served Champagne, which I hardly ever drink and never in the morning, but today I was feeling just a little like Audrey Hepburn perhaps, so I raised my glass to our new president. The new day has come.

Congratulations! This is a new start...a promising one!
I do hope we will have a new promising start soon, Miss Eve and us two-feet. Keep your fingers and ears crossed for us, yes?

Oh, I'm so jealous! I don't care for champagne but this is the one time when popping a cork, or many, would have been so right. As for Aretha's hat, watch for it in a church near you, it' s gonna be a best seller. I just loved her whole ensemble, it was pure genius.
It was a grand event! We had Krispy Kremes ... (I don't know why ...) and remember .. we are on the West Coast too .. it WAS early.
Krispy Kremes are always appropriate for presidential inaugurations, RG. Well played! (I'm assuming the bunnehs got the Cinnabunkremes?)
